Following this rather extensive discussion re: Moby’s snobbery or lack thereof, I feel obligated to disclose that I do not own a television, since that seems to be the defining characteristic of The New Pretentiousness.
This is not, however, because I do not want a television. It’s mostly…
I’m in the same boat. If I want a TV, first I have to BUY a TV. Then I have to get cable. Then, because of my schedule, I have to get a DVR and cables and wires and, well… a couch. Or, I can continue to watch Hulu for the same price I’m paying now.
I don’t have a TV and I don’t want a TV. But please, people who make TV, don’t stop making TV.
